Marine & Offshore Pump Expertise

European-sourced pumps and spare parts for vessels, FPSOs, drilling rigs, and offshore platforms. Built for saltwater service, class society approved, and supported across the lifecycle of your equipment.

Marine and offshore pumping is one of the most demanding service environments any pump operates in. Saltwater corrosion, vibration, motion, hydrocarbon exposure, hazardous areas, and the need for redundancy combine with strict regulatory oversight from classification societies and IMO conventions. Getting the specification right matters — replacement is logistically difficult and downtime is expensive.

We Sell Pumps supports shipbuilders, vessel operators, ship managers, offshore contractors, and maintenance teams with engineered pump selection, OEM spare parts, and access to the European manufacturers that dominate marine pump supply. Our work covers commercial vessels, naval and government ships, FPSOs, fixed offshore platforms, and floating production units.

Certifications

Class Society & Regulatory Familiarity

For commercial vessels, essential machinery requires class society approval covering materials, construction, factory testing, and documentation. We source pumps with certificates from the major class societies, including:

  • DNV (Det Norske Veritas)
  • Lloyd's Register
  • Bureau Veritas (BV)
  • American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
  • RINA
  • ClassNK
  • China Classification Society (CCS)
Standards

Technical & Regulatory Standards

Marine and offshore pumps are governed by a layered framework of regulations and engineering standards. We work routinely with:

  • SOLAS Chapter II-1 (bilge, ballast, fire, cooling)
  • MARPOL Annex I (oily water 15 ppm limit, OWS)
  • IMO BWM Convention (ballast water treatment)
  • API 610 (centrifugal process pumps)
  • API 682 (mechanical seals)
  • NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 (sour service materials)
  • ATEX / IECEx (hazardous area certification)
  • NFPA 20 (fire pump installations)
Materials Knowledge

Engineered for Saltwater Service

The right material specification is the difference between a pump that lasts twenty years and one that fails within months. We help operators specify materials matched to the actual service conditions — temperature, chloride concentration, dissolved oxygen, sediment, and biofouling exposure.

Marine Bronze (NAB)

Nickel-aluminium bronze for impellers, casings, and pump bodies. Long-proven seawater material with biofouling resistance.

Duplex Stainless

Higher strength than austenitic stainless with PREN ≈ 35. Used in process pumps and modern ballast pumps.

Super-Duplex

PREN > 40. The standard for offshore seawater lift, fire main, and aggressive seawater duties.

6Mo / Super-Austenitic

For very aggressive seawater, FGD scrubbers, and chemical-laden seawater services.

Marine & Offshore Pump FAQ

Questions we hear regularly from vessel operators, ship managers, and offshore contractors.

Yes. We source pumps with certificates from all major classification societies (DNV, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS, RINA, ClassNK). Specify the required class at the inquiry stage so we can match the right manufacturer and product line — material certificates (EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2), hydrostatic test reports, and performance documentation are included with delivery.
Yes. We supply ATEX-certified and IECEx-certified pumps and accessories for hazardous area installation on offshore platforms and FPSOs. Specify the required zone (0, 1, 2 for gas; 20, 21, 22 for dust) and gas group, and we will match suitable equipment from the manufacturer's catalogue.
For pumps from European manufacturers we frequently supply standard spare parts within 1–5 working days from our suppliers. For vessels in transit or at remote ports, we arrange shipment to the next port of call or to a forwarding agent. Critical items such as mechanical seals and impellers are usually on the shelf at the manufacturer.
A clear photo of the pump nameplate is by far the fastest route to correct identification. The nameplate shows manufacturer, model, serial number, and often a parts code. If the nameplate is unreadable, send us the pump duty (flow, head, fluid), suction and discharge size, motor power, vessel type, and the year of installation.
Yes. We supply new complete marine pumps for newbuild and retrofit projects. For older vessels where the original model is discontinued, we can advise on the closest current equivalent in terms of duty point, footprint, and connection sizes — often making like-for-like installation possible.
Yes. We supply API 610 process pumps, fire-fighting pumps, cooling water pumps, chemical injection pumps, and drainage pumps for offshore platforms and FPSOs. Materials selection for sour service, ATEX certification, and documentation packages can be provided to operator and class society requirements.
Yes. We coordinate sea, air, and road freight to vessels in port worldwide via our forwarding partners. Export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and dangerous goods declarations where required are prepared in-house.
